Peace... Calm...
Peace... Calm...
These two words circled gently in my mind as I lay on the mat at the end of the Yoga & Yin session — one hand resting on my heart, the other on my stomach. It was the first day of my thirty-fifth year, and already I knew the two words I wanted to anchor the months ahead.
There is so much happening in the world. Life can feel like pure chaos. If I let my thoughts run too far ahead, this year could easily feel overwhelming — life, love, work, and on top of it all, training for my first marathon.
And, of course, I have the good old Instagram algorithm reminding me that I’ll need to eat constantly, invest in proper socks, coat my feet in Vaseline to avoid blisters, and prepare to be permanently tired.
So instead, I come back to this:
Peace... Calm...
The rhythm of those words. The simplicity of them.
Peace... Calm...
These are the words I will hold tightly this year, especially in the moments when I feel stretched, uncertain, or defeated.
Peace... Calm...
A quiet mantra to return to each day.
Peace... Calm...
Even in the chaos, search and choose them.
